Officers Serving at Newtown Coast Guard Station
1821 - 1866
The Coast Guard were originally set up as the Preventive Water Guard, and renamed Coast Guard in 1822. From this date until 1856 they were under the control of the Board of Customs, but were then transferred to the Admiralty.
